It may lack the grace of an airship, or the class of Concorde, but the "Multicopter" has a style all of its own. This somewhat awkward looking vehicle is the work of German company e-volo and a prototype has just made its first manned flight, after completing unmanned trials. With e-volo's Thomas Senkel strapped into the center of its four-limbed frame, it flew for one minute and 30 seconds over a field in Southern Germany, powered by 16 small rotor blades. E-volo says its creation is powered entirely by lithium batteries and can carry a load of around 80kg -- about as much as it weighs.

This Article Was Written By A Robot
There is no one definition of robot which satisfies everyone and most people have their own. For example Joseph Engelberger, a pioneer in industrial robotics, once remarked: “I can’t define a robot, but I know one when I see one.”
According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica a robot is “any automatically operated machine that replaces human effort, though it may not resemble human beings in appearance or perform functions in a humanlike manner.” The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes a robot as a “machine that looks like a human being and performs various complex acts (as walking or talking) of a human being,” or a “device that automatically performs complicated often repetitive tasks,” or a “mechanism guided by automatic controls.”
A lot of people find it disturbing that humans are becoming more like robots while, at the same time, robots are also becoming more like humans. Many are philosophizing about what humans will become after we modify ourselves through genetic engineering or by implanting AI components into all parts of the body to improve our physical and mental abilities. There are concerns that such modifications will pervert us in some way and should perhaps be avoided. This is causing a lot of anxiety and some are warning that humans will stop being actually human.
What is the value of the human life??
Well, we know our value! According to the NY Times of USA , government agencies now have
formulas to determine what we are worth as human beings. Apparently, the Environmental Protection Agency, for one, suggests the value of a human life to be $9.1 million [previously set at $6.8 million under the Bush administration. For some reason we are appreciating]. The Food and Drug Administration set the price a $7.9 million while the Transportation Department places us each at $6 million.
Here’s what I’d like to know. How exactly are these agencies determining human value? Based on what? With nothing higher than subjective opinion upon which to base judgments and calculations, whose subjectivity is being accepted? Or is there something more objective driving the formulas? Which then begs the more pertinent and troubling question — WHY are government agencies placing dollar amounts on human beings? What’s the point? The possibilities are chilling but not necessarily unexpected or even unreasonable within a secular society.
As C. Evertt Koop and Francis A. Schaeffer noted 30 years ago in their book, Whatever Happened to the Human Race, “If man is not made in the image of God, nothing then stands in the way of inhumanity. There is no good reason why mankind should be perceived as special. Human life is cheapened.”
Perhaps the tragic irony of our time is that as our governments steadily increases the dollar value on life, they at the same time cheapen it. So we are in a era of Globalization.Hence Our governments will surely learn the formula for the valuation of human life here in Sri Lanka also. So Im confused ..!! Actually whats happening to human race ???

Toyota to sell Chinese-made hybrid cars from 2015
TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp will invest $689 million in a new R&D center for low-emission vehicle technology in the eastern China city of Changshu and will start selling Chinese-made hybrid cars from around 2015, the company said on Saturday. Beijing wants global automakers to develop environmentally friendly vehicle technology in China to share the know-how with their local partners. Toyota said the new R&D centre, located some 100 kilometers (62 miles) northwest of Shanghai, would become operational with test tracks and other facilities ready by 2013. It will also cooperate with joint-venture partners and other manufacturers on environmentally friendly technology, it added. Toyota, the maker of Prius hybrid cars, also plans to develop hybrid component technology in China and start selling vehicles with Chinese-made hybrid systems through its joint ventures with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co and FAW Group, it said.

kadamandiya
Kadamandiya was the village center in old Sri Lankan villages. the people went to kadamandiya for every thing as this was their town where shops and all the news came to them through.. Although the society has changes a lot in the last few decades with the globalization, Still there are people who values the old kadamandiya at least conceptually... this is an effort to recreate that place which was very close to
The People.
